NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (IGC)
NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (IGC) is an internationally recognized qualification in occupational health and safety management, acknowledged worldwide.
The course develops practical skills essential for HSE specialists, managers, and individuals responsible for workplace safety within organizations.
The NEBOSH IGC provides a high level of professional knowledge and may be used as a foundation for progressing to higher-level NEBOSH qualifications, such as the NEBOSH Diploma, as well as for career development in both the Polish and international job markets.
Course Scope
- Identification and assessment of occupational risks
- Prevention of workplace accidents and occupational diseases
- Implementation of effective HSE / OHS management systems
- Development of safety procedures and internal audits
- Emergency response and incident management
The course also serves as preparation for further professional development and obtaining higher-level NEBOSH qualifications.
Training Delivery
The course is delivered in English by experienced trainers accredited by NEBOSH, holding high professional qualifications.
The course concludes with two examinations assessed by NEBOSH. Successful completion is confirmed by the globally recognized NEBOSH International General Certificate.
NEBOSH IGC Structure and Examinations
IG1 – Open Book Exam (OBE)
An online exam conducted from anywhere in the world. Participants receive a workplace scenario and have 24 hours to prepare their responses. The use of notes and training materials is permitted.
After submission, a 15-minute closing interview is conducted for verification.
IG2 – Risk Assessment Project
A practical component involving the preparation of a realistic workplace risk assessment. Participants identify hazards and propose control measures. The completed project is submitted to the course provider after the course ends.
Duration and Format
- 10 working days (2 weeks with a weekend break)
- Hours: 8:30–15:30
- Format: Online training
Minimum Entry Requirements
No specific qualifications or prior experience are required. The course and examinations are conducted entirely in English, and all answers must be provided in English.
Recommended English language level:
IELTS 6.0 or higher (minimum B2 level according to the CEFR).
Course Fee Includes
- 10 days of online NEBOSH IGC training with an experienced instructor
- Printed book “International Health and Safety at Work” (6th edition, RMS Publishing), recommended by NEBOSH, including packaging and shipping costs
- Access to additional learning materials 2 weeks before the course start date
- Daily trainer notes and session recordings available until the end of the course
- Opportunity to ask questions and participate in additional consultation sessions
- Morning revision sessions and homework assignments to reinforce learning
- Mock examination after the first part of the course with detailed trainer feedback
