SOI inspections

At ROJAM, we perform authorized periodic inspections of PPE equipment.

 

As part of the inspection:

  • we check the equipment
  • we issue a product card
  • the equipment that has undergone the review is marked with an inspection sticker
  • we prepare a report on the review

Inspection of personal protective equipment (PPE)

 

IS THE PPE INSPECTION NEEDED?

 

  • Rope access safety and regulations require regular monitoring of PPE.
  • We conduct periodic and special inspections of PPE for companies, services and individuals.
  • Such inspections are necessary as per Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/425, Regulation of the Minister of Economy of 21.12.2005 on essential requirements for personal protective equipment, as well as in accordance with PN-EN 365 and manuals *.
  • The necessity of carrying them out also results from the elementary safety rules to be observed when performing rope access works.

Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/425 of 9 March 2016 on individual protection measures and repealing of Council Directive 89/686 / EEC.

 

WHO CAN MAKE INSPECTIONS OF ROPE ACCESS EQUIPMENT?

 

  • PPE inspections are carried out only by trained persons or their representatives whose qualifications are confirmed by relevant certificates. Our team includes certified controllers who also have experience in rope access works.
  • We can carry out inspections of harnesses, blocks, carabineers, snap fasteners, ropes, absorbers, helmets, lanyards, descent devices and clamping devices.

 

WHAT INSPECTIONS AND SERVICES DO WE PROVIDE?

HOW TO PREPARE THE EQUIPMENT FOR INSPECTION?

 

  • the inspected equipment must be clean and also identifiable (it should have a name and an identification number).
  • helmets and textile elements cannot bear any traces of paint, permanent markers, lubricants, chemicals and stickers. Equipment that cannot be identified should be withdrawn from use and decommissioned, which is why it is not subject to periodic inspection.
  • each PPE has an expiry date, after which the equipment must be decommissioned from use.

 

WHAT IS IN THE PERFORMED ISPECTION?

 

  • inspection of the equipment ‘s technical condition,
  • preparation of a report on the equipment’s technical condition,
  • shipping at the courier's rate, depending on the amount of equipment and size of the shipment,
  • if necessary, visit at the client’s chosen destination - cost evaluated individually.

PPE DOCUMENTATION

The PPE inspection process is completed with an audit protocol.

It contains a status assessment of the transferred PPE and the decision to allow the equipment to continue its use or the necessity of its withdrawal. The report also specifies the date of the next review.

PLACE OF INSPECTION
Inspected equipment should be delivered in person or by mail / courier to the following address: 80-758 Gdańsk, Ul. Siennicka 25. The method of handing over the equipment after the inspection is agreed individually with the client. On request, the inspection can also be carried out at the customer's.
TIME OF INSPECTION
The period of implementation depends on the amount of equipment and its complexity - it is determined individually with the client. It is possible to perform an on-site and express inspection, the details of the implementation are discussed directly with the client.
PERIOD OF VALIDITY
In accordance with the applicable law, periodic inspections should be carried out once every 12 months or at shorter intervals, in particular when the PPE is significantly affected or when the controller or the manufacturer recommends it.

 

The condition of personal protective equipment should be attended to of not only because of legal requirement (PN-EN 365 standard under the Council Directive 89/686 / EEC), but above all, guided by the safety of themselves and employees. Periodic inspection of PPE should take place at least once a year. However, it is important to check the condition of the equipment before each use.
