Training for work at height which involves rope access techniques. During the course, the participant will also acquire the knowledge necessary to undertake a simple rescue operation in the event of a threat to his own health and life, as well as that of his co-workers.
Validity of the certificate 3 years.
Training aimed at people who, while working at height:
- use anchor points on workstations,
- move vertically and horizontally between anchor points with continuous belaying,
- use positioning equipment in the working position (without rope access),
- make basic rescue attempts for persons suspended after a fall from a height,
- perform work with rope access techniques using a two-rope system.
Training program:
Theory:
- hazards associated with work at height,
- principles of occupational risk assessment and methods of its reduction
- knowledge of basic legislation on the safety of work at height,
- basic knowledge of the documentation required during the work, including the work plan and evacuation plan,
- selection, fitting and use of equipment for rope access work,
- principles of inspection, maintenance and disposal of equipment for work at height,
- types, selection and inspection of anchor points,
- basic techniques for working in restraint, positioning and with fall arrest equipment,
- principles of hovering (forces acting during fall arrest, intolerance to hanging)
- properties and limitations of evacuation and rescue equipment,
- knowledge of the force triangle,
- knowledge of basic hoisting systems,
- the construction and operation of the let-off position.
Practice:
- selection, donning and fitting of personal protective equipment for work in rope access,
- principles of inspection before using personal protective equipment for work in rope access,
- maintenance and disposal of equipment for work at height,
- types, selection and inspection of anchor points,
- operation of instruments; belaying, descending and ascending instruments,
- tying knots,
- construction of positions (basic, small type “Y”),
- ways to protect ropes and position tapes,
- packing and coiling of ropes,
- descent, ascent, conversion from descent to ascent and vice versa,
- Descending on a rope on clamping devices,
- ascending a rope on a descending instrument,
- overcoming knots on the rope, lashing, crossing position,
- transfer from rope to rope,
- overcoming protection on a rope,
- overcoming an edge,
- climbing a ladder with safety lines,
- horizontal artificial facilitation technique on fixed and sliding points,
- lifting on a basic hoisting system (3:1),
- lowering the injured person,
- evacuation and rescue operations,
- releasing the injured person from the descending device,
- rescue of a suspended worker after a fall from a height that is within range.
Duration: 4 days (32 hours)
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older,
- good physical condition,
- No contraindications to work at height.
